Kelloggs Football Cúl Camp

Kelloggs Hurling Cúl Camp

Blessington GAA U8 Notes

On Tuesday 15th July, 33 of our U8's together with coaches and parents travelled by bus to Croke Park for the Leinster U8 Go Games. We had two teams of 9 playing against St Cuthberts of Meath. Given the numbers we had travelling most kids only played one half so that everyone could get a game. Both Blessington teams played extremely well and won both matches. Before the games the players and coaches viewed one of the dressing rooms. On the way home we stopped in McDonalds to feed all the hungry players. Overall it was a fantastic experience for all concerned. A team photo is available from www.hrphoto.ie for any parents who didn't get a copy on the day.

Winter Club 7's update
The men's 7's finals took place on Saturday last, 1st February. All great games and really well organised event.
The Celtic Tigers took the Wooden Spoon Award having been beaten by The Young Guns.
A thrilling play-off for a coveted place in the final went to The Noughties who beat the Boomers after extra-time. Vintage Crop then beat the Boomers in the Shield final. The final game saw The Nineties pitted against the The Noughties. After a great game, the Nineties proved deserved winners and took the main prize, 'The Cup'. Well done also to Jonathan Daniels who won player of the Tournament and scored an impressive 6 goals and 4 overs in the final. Presentations were held afterwards in Hennessy's Pub and a great night was had by all. Many thanks to all who participated. A special mention to Barry O'Donovan who organised the event. Also thanks to Noelle McGarr for the hot soup each week, Pat Molloy and Jimmy Callaghan for refereeing the games, Mick Curran for ensuring the grounds were always available and operational and Hennessy's Pub for the food at the presentations.
